Residence permit through employment, family or study in Georgia

Updated 5 October 2026 What the service covers Reviewed by: Maia Tordia, lawyer

We prepare residence permit applications based on employment with a Georgian company, family reunification or study: check the basis, assemble the documents, file and run the case through to the decision.

For employment, since 1 March 2026 you first need the right to work, which the employer applies for, and only then the work residence permit. For family, the key is the marriage or birth documents with a translation and an apostille (where required). For study, proof of enrolment at an accredited institution.

Our fee: 700 GEL, consultation $30

What the work covers

About permanent residence

Periods on a study permit do not count towards permanent residence. If permanent status is the goal, take this into account before choosing the basis: guide to permanent residence.

What is not included

What you will need

Missing part of the set is not a reason to wait. At the review it often turns out that half of what was collected is not needed and what is needed is missing.

How the work goes

  1. You describe the case through the form, by email or in a messenger.
  2. A lawyer reviews the facts: what you already have, what has to be obtained, where the weak points are.
  3. We agree the scope and the price. Up to this point you pay nothing.
  4. We sign a contract in which the scope of the service is set out in writing.
  5. You hand over the documents, we check the set and tell you what is missing.
  6. We run the procedure and keep you informed at every step.
  7. You receive the result and the full set of documents.

What is outside our control

We tell you the weak points of the case before the work starts. If in our view the basis is shaky, you will hear it plainly rather than after filing.

About this page. It sets out the scope of our service and the general order of the procedure. It is not legal advice and not a public offer: the scope, the timing and the price for a particular matter are agreed individually and recorded in the contract. Requirements, fees and practice change, so anything here is checked against the position on the day you apply. In many procedures the final decision rests with the competent authority and its discretion, so a positive outcome cannot be guaranteed.
