Work permit in Georgia
We prepare and file for a work permit: check the basis, assemble the set, support the application and run the case through to the decision.
A work permit and a residence permit are different documents with different grounds. Often both are needed, but not always and not in any order. That review is where we start.
What the work covers
- Reviewing the basis. Entrepreneurship, self-employment, employment, short-term work - each has its own set and its own consequences for your status.
- Checking your current status and dates: until when you are lawfully in the country and what follows from that for the order of filing.
- Drafting the employment contract, where employment is the basis. Included in the price.
- The document set, translations and notarial certification.
- Cross-checking the documents. Different spellings of names, mismatched dates, expired certificates - the most common cause of lost time.
- An interpreter at the interview, where one is scheduled. Included for entrepreneurs and the self-employed.
- Filing and running the case through to the decision.
The short-term permit
It covers work of up to four months. It suits project work and business trips, but it does not build up time towards permanent status - if the aim is to stay, a different basis has to be considered.
What is not included
- The decision itself. It rests with the state authority and cannot be guaranteed.
- The state fee where one applies - paid separately and depending on the processing time.
- Finding an employer and getting hired.
- The applicant's own steps: attendance, biometrics, the interview.
- Documents issued abroad only to their holder in person.
What you will need
- Your passport - every completed page.
- Current and previous Georgian documents: residence permit, ID card, certificates.
- Documents for the basis: employment contract, company documents, sole trader extract.
- Proof of where you live in Georgia.
- Details of your income and its source.
- Any previous refusals and the decisions on them, with dates.
How the work goes
- You describe the case - through the form, by email or in a messenger.
- A lawyer reviews the facts: what you already have, what has to be obtained, where the weak points are.
- We agree the scope and the price. Up to this point you pay nothing.
- We sign a contract in which the scope of the service is set out in writing.
- You hand over the documents, we check the set and tell you what is missing.
- We run the procedure and keep you informed at every step.
- You receive the result and the full set of documents.
Prices
Our fee and the state fee are counted separately. The fee is set by the state, its size depends on the processing time, and we do not mark it up.

Consultation - from $30. The price for your case is confirmed before the work starts and fixed in the contract.
What is outside our control
- The authority's decision and how long the review takes.
- Requirements for the document set: they are refined and must be checked on the filing date.
- The work of another country's authorities - certificates, apostilles.
- Circumstances that already exist: previous refusals, breaches of stay, mismatches in documents from earlier years.
If in our view the basis is weak, you will hear it plainly rather than after filing.
