IT virtual zone status in Georgia

We prepare and file for virtual zone status - the regime for companies that develop software in Georgia and supply it outside the country.

The status gives relief on profit tax for supplies abroad. It does not remove income tax on salaries, the duty to keep records, or tax consequences in the country where you are resident.

What the work covers

• Assessing whether it applies. We look at what the company actually does: the regime covers software development, not every activity people call "IT".
• Preparing the case - a description of the activity, details of the team and where development is carried out.
• The document set and filing with the competent authority.
• Support during review and answers to follow-up requests.
• Reviewing a refusal, if one comes: what exactly was not accepted and whether reapplying makes sense.

What is not included

• The decision to grant the status. It rests with the authority and cannot be guaranteed.
• Company registration - that is a separate service; the status is granted to an existing company.
• Bookkeeping and reporting after the status is granted.
• Tax planning in your country of residence.

What you will need

• The company's corporate documents and register extract.
• A detailed description of the product: what is developed and for whom.
• Details of the team: who carries out development and where.
• Client contracts, if there are any.
• Details of the actual place of work: address, equipment.

How the work goes

1. You describe the case - through the form, by email or in a messenger.
2. A lawyer reviews the facts: what you already have, what has to be obtained, where the weak points are.
3. We agree the scope and the price. Up to this point you pay nothing.
4. We sign a contract in which the scope of the service is set out in writing.
5. You hand over the documents, we check the set and tell you what is missing.
6. We run the procedure and keep you informed at every step.
7. You receive the result and the full set of documents.

Prices

There is no state fee for reviewing the application.

Consultation - from $30. The price for your case is confirmed before the work starts and fixed in the contract.

What is outside our control

• The authority's decision and how long the review takes.
• How the regime is applied in practice: it changes and is checked on the filing date.
• The company's actual circumstances - if development is not carried out in Georgia, no wording in the application fixes that.

If in our view the case for the status is weak, you will hear it before we file.
