Opening a bank account in Georgia
We support the opening of an account: assemble the set, help word the description of your activity and the source of funds the way a bank expects, and take you through the procedure.
The main point up front: the bank decides. Our work is to remove the predictable reasons for refusal, not to promise an outcome. How the procedure works is covered in a separate explainer.
What the work covers
- Reviewing the situation. Citizenship, tax residency, source of funds, expected counterparties - the choice of bank and the chance of refusal follow from these.
- Choosing the bank for your case. Requirements differ between banks and change over time.
- The document set and a check that it is complete.
- The description of activity and source of funds - the key part. Banks refuse not because money is "bad" but because ordinary money is explained unconvincingly.
- Support at the application and attendance at the bank.
- Answers to the bank's follow-up questions during its checks.
- Remote opening under a power of attorney where the bank allows it.
In person or remotely
Some banks open an account under a power of attorney, others require you in person - and that rule can change between your enquiry and the application. The remote route costs more and takes longer: a power of attorney, an apostille and a translation are added. If travelling is possible, it is usually simpler to travel.
What is not included
- The bank's decision. Opening or refusing is its right, and it is not obliged to explain why.
- Any guarantee of timing. Checks can take from a day to several weeks.
- Depositing funds or any operations on the account.
- Tax reporting on the account in your country of residence.
What you will need
- Your passport.
- Proof of your address.
- Documents on your income and the source of funds.
- For a sole trader or a company - corporate documents and the register extract.
- A description of the activity: who you work with, where receipts come from.
- A power of attorney with apostille and translation - for remote opening.
How the work goes
- You describe the case - through the form, by email or in a messenger.
- A lawyer reviews the facts: what you already have, what has to be obtained, where the weak points are.
- We agree the scope and the price. Up to this point you pay nothing.
- We sign a contract in which the scope of the service is set out in writing.
- You hand over the documents, we check the set and tell you what is missing.
- We run the procedure and keep you informed at every step.
- You receive the result and the full set of documents.
Prices
There is no state fee in this procedure. The bank's own account charges are its tariff and have nothing to do with our fee.

Consultation - from $30. The price for your case is confirmed before the work starts and fixed in the contract.
What is outside our control
- The bank's decision and how long its checks take.
- Requirements for the set: they differ between banks and change.
- The bank's internal policy on particular countries and activities.
- Information about you in international databases we cannot access.
If we can see the chance of refusal is high, we say so before the work starts and explain what exactly raises the doubt.
Tell us who the account is for and where the money will come from. We will say what to prepare and what the bank will ask.

It sets out the scope of our service and the general order of the procedure. It is not legal advice and not a public offer: the scope, the timing and the price for a particular matter are agreed individually and recorded in the contract. Requirements, fees and practice change, so anything here is checked against the position on the day you apply. In many procedures the final decision rests with the competent authority and its discretion, so a positive outcome cannot be guaranteed.
